How to use Olivia Ussami
Your data assistant for vendors, customers, and riders.
Olivia answers questions about your Night Market data in plain English. You don’t need SQL or reports — just type what you want to know and she looks it up in the database.
Quick start
Choose the right assistant
If you ask a customer question while on the Vendor tab (or vice versa), Olivia will suggest switching tabs.
Vendor Manager
Restaurants, menus, vendor orders, ratings, revenue, active vendor counts, community visibility.
“Show the menu for Daavi Beans Sokoo” “Which vendors received the most completed orders last month?” “What does active customer mean?”Customer Orders
Customers, order history, repeat buyers, campus counts, gross spend, address filters, wallet refunds.
“Top customers by gross spend in February 2026” “Customers who ordered from BANI HOSTEL since 2025” “Show wallet refund transactions from last month”Rider Manager
Riders, trips, daily earnings, time-of-day breakdowns, withdrawals.
“Rider trips by time of day in February 2026” “Highest rider daily earnings in February 2026”Finding your way around
Chats & follow-ups
Olivia remembers context within the current chat on the same browser:
- After “Which vendor has the highest rating?”, ask “what of community?” to filter to community-visible vendors only.
- After a year-specific question, ask “what of 2024?” or “how about last year?” to rerun the same lookup for another period.
- If several restaurants match a name (e.g. “Daavi”), Olivia shows a list — pick one or reply with the vendor number (e.g. 358).
- Short replies like a lone name or “Ah” may prompt Olivia to ask for more detail — add what you want to know.
- Starting New chat clears follow-up context. Use it when switching to a completely different question.
Export & download
When Olivia returns a table of results, you can:
- View all — opens a modal with the full result set (up to 10,000 rows).
- Download CSV — saves the same data as a spreadsheet file.
This works for customer lists, repeat customers, weekly patronage breakdowns, address filters, and other table answers. Single-value answers (like a count) don’t show export buttons.
Words we use
| Term | What Olivia means |
|---|---|
| Patronizing / patronage | Completed orders — delivered and paid. “Highest patronizing customer” = most completed orders. |
| Active customer | At least one completed order — not the same as “registered on the app”. |
| Active vendor | Vendor with active status in the system. |
| Completed order | Delivered + paid (same as patronizing for counts). |
| Community (vendor) | Vendors visible to the community on the app. |
| Gross spend | Order total plus markup, processing fee, and delivery fee — use for “top customers by spend” questions. |
| Delivery address / hostel | Where the order was delivered (customer_address) — e.g. BANI HOSTEL, Diamond Jubilee Hall. |
| UG, UPSA, Accra Community | Campus or area names — use them to filter customer or vendor questions. | Paid vs Delivered vs Completed | Console Delivered/Picked = delivery status 5. Paid = payment status 3. Olivia “completed order” still means both. Export “Payment Status Completed” is paid, not delivered. |
| Payouts vs Withdrawals vs Collections | Payouts = report files. Withdrawals = money out. Offline collections = vendor paying in (collected_at). |
| Repeat customer | Customer with more than one completed order in the period you ask about. |
How to ask good questions
The box completes questions Olivia can already run. Type an opener and pick one.
- What, who, when, where, which — a value, the person on an order, a time, a place, or a short list.
- How many, how much — a count or an amount.
- Is, does, can — yes or no for one named shop, rider, or customer.
- Are orders down this week — completed orders versus the previous window, then active vendors, UG, shops that are unavailable now, and weekend orders. The answer is counts. It does not name a cause.
Write an order as order number ABC123. Arrow keys move through completions. Enter fills the question.
Do
- Include names, dates, or campus when you can — “January 2026” beats “recently”.
- Ask one thing at a time — split complex reports into separate questions.
- Say completed orders or patronizing when you mean delivered + paid.
- Use vendor ID when you know it — “List meals for vendor 237” is very reliable.
Don’t
- Ask why the app doesn’t work (tracking, refunds, payments) — Olivia reads database records, not app bugs.
- Paste raw SQL — ask in English instead.
- Expect forecasts or profit margins Olivia doesn’t support yet. Weekly patronizing customer breakdowns (highest, lowest, median per week) work in the Customer assistant.
- Expect wallet/refunds or JSON meal breakdowns — these reports are not available in Vendor Manager yet.
Dates & time ranges
These all work well:
- “in January 2026”, “last month”, “last week”, “today”
- “for December 2025” when you need a specific month
- Combine with campus: “active customers in UG for December 2025”
If you get zero results, double-check the month, year, and campus spelling.
Example questions
These follow Olivia’s unified semantic router (lookup, analytics, explanation, navigation). You can ask naturally about vendors, customers, riders, orders, locations, business definitions, and navigation. Tap matching chips on the chat homepage, or copy these:

Wallet (Customer assistant)
What Olivia can’t answer
- Why customers can’t track orders, pay online, or get refunds
- Best rider by on-time delivery (not in data yet)
- First-order-by-address cohort reports (not wired yet)
- Profit, margin, retention, or forecasting analytics
- Running SQL you paste in, or changing data (Olivia is read-only)
Something wrong?
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| Wrong type of answer | Switch assistant tab — Vendor / Customer / Rider. |
| “I don’t understand” | Rephrase with a name, date, or campus; tap a suggested prompt. |
| Several vendors with the same name | Pick from Olivia’s list or reply with the vendor ID. |
| Zero or empty results | Check month, year, and campus; try “completed orders” explicitly. |
| Follow-up didn’t work | Stay in the same chat (don’t start New chat); rephrase the filter. |
| Slow first reply | Wait a moment — first question after idle loads the AI model. |
